Paint Strokes Playlist: Volume 1

Hey Friends! ☺️

I think every artist has a quirk about them when they paint. Mine is I have to listen and sing to music while I paint. It just sets the tone that it's time to work! 👩🏾‍🎨 So allow me to share some of my favorite tunes that I like to listen to while working on my craft.

'Cause I'm a beautiful wreck

A colorful mess, but I'm funny

This speaks to me so much, I struggled a lot with my confidence growing up. Now that I'm a woman I love all the flaws about myself and I try to embrace who I am even if others don’t like it.

Relationships are hard and this to me reminds me of where I've been and where I plan to go if I ever try again in a relationship.

In the past I've focus primarily on others before myself, this song is a nice reminder to remember me first. Glad I had a chance to see her at Broccoli fest this year!

Ella Mai's inspiration to this was it takes 10,000 hours to master a craft and that how I feel about my art. Got a chance to see her on tour with Jhené Aiko earlier this year.

This is my favorite song by Jhené Aiko, it's so beautiful and gentle and it always puts me at peace when I hear it.

Also got to see him at the Broccoli fest, his grooves are so smooth and make you day dream about love and feeling wanted.

Beyoncé is one of my favorite performers I have been to so many of her shows and will be there again for OTRII! Love Drought I related to so much being in a relationship and being over analytical about what your partner is feeling, thinking or doing. Deciding if you should do more or less and wondering if you're losing yourself in them.

Tamia has been my favorite singer since I heard her sing Slow Jams in the 90s. I've been fortunate enough to see her in concert and her voice is so amazing and she's a great writer. She brings hope to me on love with her lyrics. Really just a great artist and vocalist and I can't wait to see her again!

When I first heard Tori Kelly I fell in love with her voice, it's so sweet and soothing. This song honestly sounds like a narrative of a fairy tale. When I close my eyes I can see the story in my head.

I have a Spotify playlist that is ever growing. Subscribe if you want to listen in too! 😬
